Through structured training, onboard exposure, and continuous mentorship, cadets gain the knowledge, confidence, and practical experience required to build a successful career at sea. The objective of the Cadet Programme is not simply to recruit large numbers of cadets, but to identify motivated individuals who demonstrate commitment, discipline, and a passion for the maritime industry.
At ABB Ship Management, we focus on providing a supportive learning environment where cadets receive practical training, professional mentorship, and real-world operational exposure.
Cadets typically progress through three main stages in order to obtain their Certificate of Competency (CoC) and become qualified maritime officers.
Depending on the selected maritime course and academy, this stage may last
between 6 months and 3 years.
ABB Ship Management provides cadets with valuable onboard training opportunities
where they gain practical experience working alongside experienced officers and
crew members.
After completing the required sea service period and academic requirements,
cadets become eligible to appear for the examinations conducted by their
respective maritime authorities.

Cadets will have the opportunity to participate in onboard visits to vessels managed by Abb Ship Management Pvt. Ltd. before embarking on their first sea assignment.
